A: Ace.

AO II: Advanced Omega II System.

APC: Advanced point count, a counting system associated with Ken Uston.

BC: 1. Betting correlation. 2. back count.

BE: Betting efficiency.

BEP: Break-even point.

BJ: 1. Blackjack, the game. 2. a two-card total of 21.

BP: Big player; used to describe the big bettor in a team effort.

BR: Bankroll.

BS: Basic strategy.

CC: Card counting

CSM: Continuous shuffling machine.

DA or DA2: Double down on any first two cards.

DAS: Double down after splitting.

DD: 1. Double down. 2. double deck.

DE: Double exposure, a variety of blackjack in which both dealer cards are dealt face up and ties lose.

Dh: Double down, if you can't double, then hit.

DOA: Double down on any first two cards.

Ds: Double down, if you can't double, then stand.

D10: Double down allowed only on ten or eleven. Variations: D8, D9, D11.

EOR: Effects of removal.

ES: Early surrender.

EV: Expected value, as used by mathematicians.

H: Hit.

HC: High card: 10, J, Q, K, or ace.

H17: Dealer hits soft seventeen.

IRC: Initial running count.

KO, or K-O: 1. Knock-Out Blackjack, the book by Ken Fuchs and Olaf Vancura. 2. the counting system in Knock-Out Blackjack.

LS: Late surrender.

MA: Multiple-action blackjack.

NDAS: Double down after splitting, is not allowed.

NLP: Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

OU: Over/Under, side bets that your two-card total will be over or under 13.

PB: Pit boss; used to mean any supervisor of a blackjack game.

PC: 1. Percentage. 2. pit critter, same as PB.

PE: Playing efficiency.

RC: Running count.

RFB: Complimentary room, food, and beverage.

ROR: 1. Risk of ruin. 2. rate of return.

RPC: Revere point count.

RSA: Resplit aces.

S: Stand.

SD: 1. Single deck. 2. standard deviation, as used by mathematicians.

S17: 1. Soft seventeen. 2. dealer stands on soft seventeen.

Spd: Split Pairs, if you can't split, then double, if you can't double, then hit .

Sph: Split Pairs, if you can't split, then hit.

Sps: Split Pairs, if you can't split, then stand.

Suh: Surrender, if you can't surrender, then hit.

Sus: Surrender, if you can't surrender, then stand.

T: Sometimes used to denote a ten-valued card.

TC: True count, or count per deck.

VAR: Variance, as used by mathematicians.

W/L: Win/Loss.

X: Sometimes used to denote a ten-valued card.

1:8: Bet spread of 1:8. Variations: 1:6, 1:12, etc.

2:1: A blackjack game in which naturals pay 2:1 instead of the normal 3:2.

6D: Six decks. Variations: 1D, 2D, etc.
